About Us
In Maryam's name, we work to help children across the world. Our primary purpose is to provide support for children most in need to attend school and help break the cycle of poverty.
In 2016, our first international project was established. We began our work in Nepal, where various projects are ongoing; we fund a free school meal programme, and an after-school programme, in a remote Sherpa community in the Himalayas. Through these initiatives we have built strong relationships with the community and beyond, and continue to work together to improve the life of the children in the region.
We have also built a trusting relationship with the local government which has led to the school meal programme being rolled out and made compulsory across all 46 schools in the district! Find our more about our free school meal project:
In 2020 we partnered with Little Ripples, an innovative preschool programme developed for and run by communities in refugee camps. The Maryam Najafian Foundation is funding the creation and maintenance of an additional preschool learning centre (pond) in Djabal, Chad. Construction of the pond will begin in early 2021, and will allow an additional 45 children to attend pre-school with a daily meal. Find out more about our project with Little Ripples:
